JOB VACANCY: Local Content & Training Assistant
Project: EACOP
Reference: 1094-ADVT-SNEF-TZ-TEL
Employer: Ekium Tanzania Ltd
Ekium Tanzania Ltd, serving as the Electrical, Instrumentation and Telecommunications Systems (EITS) contractor for the EACOP project, is looking for a motivated Tanzanian graduate to join the team as a Local Content & Training Assistant. This role is ideal for someone at the start of their career who wants to gain hands-on experience in a large-scale international project, while contributing to one of the country’s most significant industrial developments.
The position sits within the Local Content and Training function, an area that plays a major role in ensuring that the project supports national workforce development and meets its commitments to train and empower Tanzanians. The selected candidate will work closely with the Onshore Activity Manager and several internal and external stakeholders, supporting activities that require accuracy, organization, and the ability to follow processes with discipline.
Main Responsibilities
The person appointed will take part in the daily coordination of all training-related tasks. This includes planning upcoming training sessions, keeping track of ongoing programs, and ensuring that every event or activity is properly documented. You will assist in preparing quarterly reports that summarize progress in Local Content and Training, paying attention to detail and making sure that all information is clearly and accurately presented.
Record-keeping is a central part of the job. You will maintain updated databases of the workforce, training participants and subcontractor performance. This means collecting data from different sources, organizing it, and filing it in a way that allows the team to access information easily whenever needed. In many cases, you will also follow up with subcontractors to request missing reports or to clarify inconsistencies so that all documents remain aligned and complete.
The role also comes with a strong administrative component. You will schedule meetings, prepare agendas, write minutes, and support the team with other general office tasks. At times, you may be required to participate in stakeholder engagement activities that relate to capacity-building, where you will help document discussions, gather feedback, and assist the team in implementing agreed actions.
As the project evolves, the responsibilities assigned to you may grow. This is a role that rewards initiative—if you show drive, reliability, and good problem-solving skills, you may be trusted with additional tasks.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills
This opportunity is open to recent graduates from recognized Tanzanian universities, technical training institutions, TVET colleges, or VETA centers. The field of study is open, but the candidate must be comfortable working with computers and demonstrate strong command of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams. Good communication skills are essential, as the job requires interacting with various individuals and preparing documents for management review.
You should also be someone who can plan your day, handle several tasks at once, and work without constant supervision. A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and the ability to meet deadlines will be important traits for success.
Nationality Requirement
Only Tanzanian citizens are eligible for this position.

JOB VACANCY: Junior Finance & Admin Assistant
Project: EACOP
Reference: 1184-ADVT-SNEF-TZ-TEL
Employer: Ekium Tanzania Ltd – EITS Contractor for the EACOP Project
Ekium Tanzania Ltd is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Junior Finance & Admin Assistant to join its team supporting the EACOP project. This position is ideal for someone who has already gained foundational experience in finance and administration and is ready to broaden their skills within a fast-paced project environment. The role combines finance duties, supplier coordination, administrative support, and day-to-day operational tasks that keep the office running smoothly.
As the company responsible for Electrical, Instrumentation, and Telecommunications Systems (EITS) for the EACOP project, Ekium Tanzania Ltd manages complex technical and operational activities across Tanzania and Uganda. The selected candidate will play a vital role in ensuring financial transactions move efficiently, documentation is properly handled, and both staff and suppliers receive timely support.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Junior Finance & Admin Assistant will be heavily involved in managing the flow of financial documentation from start to finish. You will process all Purchase Requisitions (PRs) for both Tanzania and Uganda, monitor their movement through the approval chain, and follow up where necessary to avoid delays. Once PRs are approved, you will take part in preparing Purchase Orders (POs) for suppliers in both countries, making sure every item is captured accurately and shared with the correct parties.
A major part of your role involves handling payments. This includes preparing payment vouchers, collecting and attaching all supporting documents, entering payment details into the online banking system, and compiling payment lists for management approval. You will also assist payment signatories by clarifying the nature and purpose of each payment whenever questions arise. Some approvals may take time, so you will need to follow up on pending payments to keep everything moving.
Supplier communication is another crucial function. You will be responsible for sending purchase orders, receiving invoices, and keeping suppliers updated about the progress of their payments. This includes sending proof of payment once transactions are completed. Being responsive, patient, and clear in communication will be important, as suppliers rely on accurate information to manage their own operations.
On the administrative side, you will help maintain a tidy, organized office environment and ensure supplies are always available. Keeping track of office inventory and ordering items before they run out is part of this responsibility. You will also maintain digital records of financial transactions, supplier data, and all related documents in a well-structured filing system.
The job also includes coordinating staff travel—both domestic and international—by handling bookings, preparing itineraries, and ensuring all required documents are in place. From time to time, different project teams may require your support on administrative or financial tasks, so flexibility and a willingness to assist wherever needed are important. Additional duties may be assigned depending on project demands, as the role evolves with time.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a closely related field.
- At least two years of experience in a financial administrative role.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office tools, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Excellent data entry and reconciliation skills, with accuracy and thoroughness.
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and handle responsibilities with minimal supervision.
