Minimum Educational Qualification

  • Essential: Diploma in pharmacy and registration in Tanzania.

Experience

  • Crucial one year of proven experience as a licensed pharmacist. Experience working for MSF or other non-governmental organizations in underdeveloped nations is preferred.

Languages

  • English and Swahili are the primary mission languages; French and/or Kirundi will be beneficial.
    The Position’s Goals
    Execute the pharmacy/medical warehouse storing activities in order to retain pharmacy stock above security level and following recommended conditions (temperature, humidity, etc.) under the direction of the Pharmacy Supervisor, and in coordination with the logistics team

Main Responsibilities

  • overseeing the ordering and delivery of materials to guarantee sensible use.
    Receiving orders and delivery, reporting any discrepancies with the cargo manifest or others, and storing items in compliance with the current system to guarantee ongoing availability. It entails: Maintaining proper storage conditions for all medicinal supplies in the pharmacy in compliance with pharmaceutical regulations to guarantee ongoing availability. ensuring accurate data entry on the software and stock cards.
    conducting routine inventories, including EPREP stock, or taking part in them.
    monitoring stock levels in relation to alarm thresholds, stock outs, expiration dates, and medications that will expire within the next six months.
  • preparing orders for the various consuming units (departments, wards, etc.), making sure they are packaged and shipped correctly, and informing the pharmacy supervisor of any irregularities or changes in consumption patterns. Notifying the Pharmacy Supervisor when the stock surpasses the alert limit
    Controlling warehouse facilities to guarantee that materials are kept in good storage conditions includes, for example, keeping an eye on the warehouse’s temperature and making sure that goods that need a cold chain are received, stored, prepared, and transported in accordance with MSF Supply and Cold Chain protocols.
    maintaining refrigeration equipment in close coordination with the logistics department and making sure the stock pharmacy is clean.
  • restricting access to authorized workers in the warehouse and making sure that doors and other exits are locked. Notifying the line manager right away of any issues that come up while working, especially if they involve damage, loss, attempted break-ins, or theft in the warehouse.
    ensuring that goods that need to be placed in a quarantine zone (such as batch recalls, expired or damaged goods, or ongoing quality alerts) are taken out of stock and securely closed.
    monitoring stock levels in relation to alarm thresholds, stock outs, expiration dates, and medications that will expire within the next six months. creating reports and delivering them to the manager.
